Welcome to the forum Prabal. I am sure that most of the ex-LLRMites have fond memories of their time in LLRM (including at Dallu's ). This forum is an effort towards reviving those memories. Several 1990s batch students, including some from 1992 batch registered in this forum but they did not post any messages. Their email records are available in the forum database. If you want I can send you their email addresses. Perhaps you can motivate them to post in this forum.

Let me join Himadri, albiet bit late to welcome our dear juniors and if I remember correctly 1990 batch was also one of the active ones including several bhands...had several of them in our dramas!
Keep writing and we look forward to more and active exchange of mails.

Hi ! Any news of Manu Pathak, Manoj Tyagi, Ankur (the one who had left IIT to join LLRM). I have a lot of happy memories of my time with these juniors. And, may I add, Sunil Sharma has done MD (Anesthesiology) & is in Delhi these days.

hi Prabal,
ya its gunjan gupta now. Though many of our batchmates are in and around delhi, guess what ??... we rarely meet. That's Delhi !!...this city runs at a fast pace and one has to catch up. Poor delhi souls are left with little time for friends.
I'm more in touch with gagan (established as a chest specialist in agra) shikha (general practitioner in chandosi) rachna (gynae in meerut) parul (gynae) kunika (gynae). All have their own private set ups and are doing well.
Akash garg is in delhi apollo.
I've landed up doing more of computers than medicine. Do some scripting/ programming for hospitals and other medical institutions. We spend 6-7 months of our year in solan ( himachal pradesh )

boss i have done MD in Physiology . Can u guide me for any teaching job opportunities abroad ( gulf , UAE, libya etc ) ???. I m right now working as Asst prof in a recognized reputed private medical college in puducherry. I m thinking of moving out only after reaching the post of Associate prof i.e by end of 2011. Hope to receive some valuable suggestion from our esteemed seniors like you. Thanks.

Hi Prabal,

Teaching jobs in physiology (in gulf etc) are usually announced in newspapers and at job portals (naukri.com, times jobs and monster.com etc.) several times a year. Just check them at regular intervals. I am pretty sure that by the end of 2011 you will find a job of your choice. It is a wise decision to move out only at the level of associate prof.

Dear Prabal,
Compiments for joining an exciting speciality like Physiology and as I understand there would be many options especially in academics and reserach.
One of my professional affiliate and someone I know is currently serving as Professor in Libya. I can check possibilities with him and put you in direct contact with him.
As Himadri rightly put and per his experience, it is better to move at the right time especially when you are in senior position.
However it is important that you utilize the current working to the best by undertaking some reserach work, publishing paper in index journals and undertaking some kind of collaborative work with clinical and para clinical departments. Such an exposure and experience would enable you to plunge into different kind of applied teaching which is common nowadays. In fact Applied Physiology is so intricately linked with emergency and internal medicine and it may be worth pursuing experience in this field.
Having a strong foundation and developing a niche area of yours would always make it easy for you.

How are you ? I quite agree with Dr Arvind Mathur on both the counts --- Applied Physiology as well as publications, especially in indexed journals. These will hold you in good stead when you go for interviews. And post your resume on Naukri.com, which is the best portal & is also frequented most by candidate-seekers.
